NJ Breast Centers and

by nickypeaches, Oct 26, 2006 12:00AM
Hi, I posted in the breast support forum page and I'll post here also. I am from New Jersey and am looking for a breast center. I was wondering if anyone has heard of My Space Breast center in West Long Branch, and if so, what you thought of it?I really need a third opinion now and I want to go to someone who specializes in breasts. My story is a long one....to make it short,I found a lump, waited a couple of cycles, still there... had a mammo, then they brought me to ultrasound room and the radiologist came in and said he didn't like what he sees... then sent for needle core biopsy, when I got to the place for needle biopsy, the doctor said because of my age(36)she wanted another ultrasound to look at the breast better, she didn't see what the first doctor saw, but sees a shadow, but definitely not what the other radiologist saw. Told me to wait 6 months and come back. 6 months is a long time and I am starting to feel uneasy about everything, and I just want to go to someone else. Cancer runs in the family. I just had an ovarian tumor (benign) removed along with the right ovary and tube. I just get scared.

did they do a needle biopsy?  It sounds like the second doctor decided against it.  They definitely should have done a biopsy, particularly given your family hx of cancer.  Asking you to wait is paramount to malpractice!  I don't know much about breast care centers in new jersey, as I live in Toronto, ontario.  But, my brother and his wife live in new jersey and my sister-in-law has breast cancer that runs in her family.  Two of her sisters and mother had breast cancer and they live in new jersey.  So, I will call her this morning to see what I can find out.  They live in highland park, NJ, her mother lives near princeton NJ.  I will get back to you if I can find any info that might be helpful for you.  Definitely, another opinion is needed in this situation.  I can't even imagine the fear and anxiety that you must be feeling.
