Need advice!! Please!

Since June 8 I started getting this brownish sometimes with a little bit of red blood discharge every now and then. My LMP was April 15, and I have had no bleeding or discharge since May 8. So 1 month later this brownish discharge appeared. I also do have PCOS. I also get sometimes very bad cramping mostly on the left side almost every day. I did however take a pregnancy test last week or so because I had intercourse with my boyfriend on May 12 with a condom but the condom slipped off and I was only on the medicine for a few days. But however, it was negative.

Also since May 7, I have been taking Norethindrone 5mg twice a day.

What could this discharge be?????

I don't see my gyn until July 15 and I go in for a sonagram on July 2.

Advice please!!!!!!

I read the side affects of the medicine and nothing tells me that I should get brown discharge and crammping.

your discharge could be old blood. 'fresh blood' is bright red, but sometimes if you bleed up there, and it doesn't come out for a while, then when it does it's brown.

but why am i having this old blood??? i should not be bleeding while taking this medicine

you should go see your doctor, s/he is the only person that will know for sure.

Spotting is very common on the pill, especially when you're taking it continuously. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Tell your doctor, but don't freak out in the meantime :-)

Thanks ladies. I know spotting is coming, but how long should this continue??? I have to go for a sonagram on July 2, and I can't be bleeding when I go.

Its hard to say how long the spotting will last, considering your abnormal bleeding history.  And it doesn't matter if you are bleeding when you go for the sono.  They can still do it.

I know, the brown/red comes only sometimes different times during the day. Sometimes its only there when I wipe. But its very annyoing, because I generally always feel wet down there, so im always now wearing a liner. The sonogram is still ok even though it's internal and external???
