Night Sweats

Your thoughts and advise please.  I am a 33 year old female and have recently begun to experience night sweats.  (approx. the past 6 to 8 weeks).  Some nights I sweat enough to soak my hair and pillow and a portion of the sheets.  Other nights, I wake up soaked from head to toe where I need to towel off and change my sheets.

Should I contact my doctor and make an appointment?  I hate going in for something that is "completely normal"...lol.

My room isn't hot at all.  I have the ceiling fans on all the time, sleep with enough sheets/covers to be comfortable.  I usually go to bed either comfortable or slightly cold only to wake up sweating at some point.  There really haven't been any changes in my life.  It's not my thyroid either.

Thoughts, suggestions?  Should I see the doc??

Hi, my wife had this problem for approx a year and a half, the doctors had no idea, doing test after test, sending her to specialists, not being able to say that she will be ok...very distressing for her.
We just found out it was 'mould' building up on the inside of the wall. Our bedroom is on the south side of the house where it is very shady and doesnt get a lot of sunlight. About 2 months ago I noticed  the plaster had changed color slightly, so decided to sugar was the walls, I then thought wow, there must be more mould on the inside of the wall so decided to pull the plaster off only to find a heap of mould, i removed and replaced all the plaster...expensive I know, but within 2 days my wife stopped the night sweats...it was unbeleivable, I rang the doctors and specialist last week to let them know and one of them said he was going to publish the story in some australian doctors insite journel.
Just a thought, you may want to check it out. Apparently mould is the cause of a lot of health problems...and sometimes you cant even see it....or smell it

I wouldn't have minded another baby as well.  Let's hope it's something else entirely!  I'll keep you advised and you do the same, ok?

For sure.  DH still wants one more child and that would put a HUGE change in plans if early menopause is the case.  33 or 38 is waaaaaaayyyyyyy too young.

Thanks!  I was wondering the same thing...about pre-menopause.  I'll call this afternoon for an appointment.  Just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy!  lol

Hi,
I am 38 and have been having the same problem.  I sometimes have to change my nightshirt up to 6 times a night, the sheets and pillow gets soaked too.  I had an appointment with my doctor about a month ago for something else and I when I mentioned the night sweats at the end, he said to schedule another appointment and he'd do some testing to see if I was in pre-menopause or what was going on, so I have that appointment on Monday.  I would suggest you make an appointment with the doctor to see what's up.  Good luck to you :)
