No period?

I am 24 years old and relatively healthy.  I have always had sort of irregular periods but never so much as now and I am definitely not pregnant.  The last time I had a period was 2 days of very light spotting in January and I honestly don't remember the last time I had it before that but I think it was around August or September.  I don't know how serious this is or whether I should go see a doctor or just let it resolve itself.  What should I do and what could be causing my irregular periods?

This could be caused by a number of things.  You may have PCOS or just have a hormonal imbalance.  It could also be caused by stress, illness, certain medications, etc.  I would have an annual exam/pap with a gynecologist.  During the exam, mention the irregular periods and any other symptoms that you have.  S/he can do blood work to check your hormone levels and find out what is going on.
