Off topic....possible arthritis?

by pmom, Dec 05, 2006 12:00AM
OK I KNOW THIS IS OFF TOPIC BUT I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO PAY 15 DOLLARS IN THE ARTHRITIS FORUM. LATELY WHEN I DO ALOT WITH MY LEFT HAND IT STARTS TO BURN, IF I FIX MY GIRL'S HAIR MY FINGERS FEEL LIKE THEY ARE TIGHTENING UP. I ALSO HAVE A 9 MONTH OLD AND I CAN'T HOLD HER FOR LONG IN MY LEFT ARM CAUSE IT BURNS AND ALMOST FEELS LIKE IT GOES NUMB CASUE I ALMOST DROP HER. I HATE THIS AND I WAS WONDERING WHAT IT COULD BE AND WHAT I COULD DO TO MAKE IT BETTER. THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE.

This sounds very much like carpal tunnel syndrome.  My SIL has this and she wears a brace when it's at it's worst.  You can purchase a wrist brace to wear to support the arm/hand.  However, you should consult your physician to rule out any other causes.
