Tough to say. This time of year many experience Seasonal Affect Disorder and no amount of meds can fix that, but light therapy can be tremendously helpful. My dh goes through that every year and living here in the NW makes it seem like forever until sunshine comes our way (rain, rain and more rain!)
It would be wise to mention it to your doctor, just to get a professional opinion on it.
I am with you though, I am about to close on our first home and with three young boys, some issues with PPD, and typhoid (kidding, just a nasty cold going around) I am exhausted! Add to that my grand example of balance and grace the other day that involved a toy vacuum, baby in my arms, and a wooden rocking horse and I look like I was involved ina cage fight and lost! Thank goodness the baby made it through with nary a mark, wish I could say the same!!
Put a call into the doctor, explain your symptoms, and look into the light therapy.
you know i used to take antidepression meds, my dr told me to not nap no matter what, to walk every day, and yes if your symptoms dont improve consider meds being upped or changed. im sorry you feel this way!!! the dark poopy days can really make us feel like that too. you need to come to sunny california!! take a trip to disneyland or something lol. i hope your tuesdeay is good. i know i cant complain about my weather, but i just cant get warm today!!
not sleeping well is a great sign of depression. there are some great meds out there, but sometimes you have to find just the right one. which is where the psychiatrist comes into play. sure your md can prescribe, but they may not have the knowledge as a pysch. the psych pretty much just meets with you , have a quick chat and off you go. if you want more in depth therapy you have to go elsewhere. boy do i know my unhappy cr.ap or what lol. i feel for you, it sucks to feel this way. maybe you need a girls trip ;) to get lift your spirits in this icky winter. xoxox!!
It is really yucky here now. The wind is blowing really hard and the rain just keeps on coming down. But, it is warmer than it has been being. And it's also supposed to be really warm Thursday, like 78*!!!!! I can't wait.
You and Andi are the only ones who will talk to me today, I guess. Nobody else wants to post on my open forum. I could get a complex real quick if I weren't careful. LOL
hey i have had posts that NOBODY responded to lol. maybe everyone else is so concerned with their own problems they cant take a moment to respond, or they know nothing. which in that case is best they dont respond!! :0 hope your day is better! have a cocktail and pretend you are in hawaii during a tropical rain :)
I took Cybalta 60mg for about 6 months for PPD. It made me "level" to the point that sometimes I'd know I should be feeling "something" (happy or sad) but instead I'd be really apathetic. Don't remember that it ever made me want to sleep though.
Is there some other situation going on that could be causing the low feelings and the sleepiness? I mean, are you sleeping well, got any new stress going on? It very well could just be a seasonal thing. I'd mention it to your doc to be on the safe side at your next appointment. Maybe your body is building up a tolerance to Cymbalta. I think it is a good sign that the nap recharges your batteries though. I think if it were a worsening depression a nap wouldn't fix it. Yah know?
Anyhow, hope everything works out for you. I know I could sure use some sunshine right about now!!!! Winter bites!
Nah, it's probably because there aren't a lot here with experience on Cymbalta. Are you taking any time for just YOU? I know it's hard with kids, but you still need to do something nice for yourself once in awhile! Maybe it's just the time of year. As soon as I get DD off to school, all I want to do it go back to bed and I have to fight myself to get anything done. Well, anything other than goof around on the computer :)
Thanks for listening to my whining yesterday! I actually see the sun shining in my windows this morning. AND, it's supposed to be almost 70* here today too. Course, that's going to be bad when all the rain and bad weather comes back cause that's going to mean storms! But, I'll worry about that in a day or two when it happens, today, I'm going outside. I have some things that I need to get done in my yard that I just keep putting off because it has been so cold. Today the sun is shining and it is going to warm up. No excuses today! I think it's going to help to. I'm looking forward to getting outside and getting my hands dirty!! HAHA
