Ovarian calcium deposits??!??

I recently had a transvaginal sonogram to check my first fibroid.  Aside from the fibroid, the technician noted an "echogenic area [1.3 by 0.9 by 0.7cm] in the right ovary suspicious for dermoid tumor."  I just saw my ob/gyn, and she said because my  ovary wasn't enlarged, and there was no sign of any lesion, cyst or mass, it might just be calcium deposits instead of a dermoid.  She didn't seem concerned at all, but I have never heard of anyone with calcium deposits on the ovary.  Has anyone ever heard of this?  I am not sure what to think!  Thanks!!

I went into the ER complaining on extreme pevlic discomfor last night. They did multiple test and found I had a Ovarian Torsion on my right ovary where I use to have a golf ball size cyst. The most they could tell me is it is a deposit of cacium and the torsion could become a tumor and I need to get it looked at. Another reason there might be a calium deposit that I brought up was Endometriosis because it is seen in women in their 20-30's. If you feel you didn't get what you need out of OB I would go to a different one to get a second opinion.

Good day. I just found out that I also have calcium in my left ovary. It's small and my doctor said it's fine for now. I have pain. So I have faith and trust in God that I'll be already right. To God Be The Glory..
Sorry to hear this, this is always concerning.  Do work with your doctor.  Calcium deposits elsewhere are typically a cause for concern and indicate cancer such as in the breast.  So, please follow up on appointments and even get a second opinion to be safe.  good luck

I have these deposits on my left ovary...5 to be exact. I had an ultrasound 3 weeks ago because I had a 2.5 cm cyst on my right ovary. At that time, there was a cyst, large amount of fluid under my uterus and a follicle on my left ovary. Today, my ultrasound showed my cyst ruptured, same amount of fluid under my uterus and multiple calcium deposits on left ovary. My doc was somewhat concerned and mentioned a possible tumor. I'm only 25 years old... I'm in moderate-severe pain everyday and my back aches too. In 2 weeks, I'll have another ultrasound to deterine if an exploratory surgery is appropriate.

I had an ultrasound too about a week ago and my doctor said that I have a Calcium Deposit in the left ovary and have a lot of pain there. As bad as when I had Kidney Stones in 1999. I still have a 3mm and a 5.5mm Kidney Stones that have not passed also now in 2008.

Can this be cancer in the ovary? My doctor wasn't concerned either about it.

I also have these deposits.  My ovary enlarge to plum size and its stopping from ovulation.

Does any know how they are caused?

I have cut out milk to see if it's that and I'll have the occasional yoghurt - we can't go without calcium.

Thanks
