Over 5 weeks since last period

Okay, so since my last period January 4th -5th which was only spotting as it had been for the past 3 months I stopped my pill and then spotted again jan 13-14.
It has now been 5+ weeks since my last suspected period and today only once i spotted a tiny bit of brown blood when i went to use the toilet.
I am sexually active and I know there is a chance of pregnancy but I was just wondering if you more or less think it's caused by stopping my pill? or do you think I'm best of taking a test? I have decided to delay the test just incase it is the from stopping my contraceptive pill and to see if it will come. Opinions would be muchly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think it's safe to say I'm not, starting getting more blood or should I say brown discharge so I'm guessing it's just my period. thanks though. (:

To be on the safe side I would test. That way if you are you can start take prenatal vitamins right away.

It could be from stopping the pill, but I would take a test to be sure.  There's no way to guarantee you are not pregnant unless you take a test.  Be sure all sex is protected unless you want a baby, especially now that you are not on the birth control.
