Ovulation Microscope

Well I bought the ovulation microscope thinking that I was going to like it.  So far, it is very difficult to use.  I don't feel like I'm doing it correctly.  I don't see any ferning which I know I'm not supposed to but should within the next couple of days but I don't even know if I'm going to.  I had positive LH surges with the opks but I wanted to try this because it was getting expensive and the microscope was a one time payment.  Does anyone have any positive results from the microscope?

I use a saliva microscope and I find it best to use first things in the morning.  I get a blob of spit on the tip on my finger and put it on the lens.  I leave it for 15 mins and read it. I get all stages of ferning through my cycle at predicatable times and I also test positive on OPK test strips on CD 13 or 14 every cycle.

You see, it's exhausting and confusing.  I don't know what to tell you, I'm just as mystified as you are on how all this works.  I would say go by your temperature, it seems to be the most accurate way of telling whether or not you have ovulated.

I have used the microscope for 3 months and I was finally able to decipher the ferning pattern- yesterday morning I had some ferning, then in the afternoon my opk tested positive.  HOWEVER, I am majorly confused because this morning I was full fern- this evening no ferning , the same thing with the opk- negative this evening- This is my first month ttc after getting pg on the first try ended in mc at 8 weeks.  I have been charting for 4 months and the charts are pretty consistent-but this is my first month using th opk's and I am just very confused because these 2 things are indicating ovulation approaching but my cm is not where it should be, my temp has not dropped, and by the calender I should have about 2 more days until ovulation.  Maby they are just predicting early- but then why would I get two positive results and then nothing?

True, but I had to give it a shot.  I'm getting sort of tired of doing any of this bbt, opk, microscope, checking cm, checking cp.  It's all becoming tiring.  I wake up every morning and take my temp.  But that's all I really do any more.  I am just going to leave it up to chance.  I have one more month of charting for fertility purposes but after that I'm just going to bd every other day.  I bought preseed and am going to try that this month but I think that this is the last month that I'm going to work so hard.  It gets too frustrating and annoying.

As I said before, if it was that easy and inexpensive (and accurate) don't you think doctors offices would use them?  Or that some reputable studies would have been done repeatedly proving their usefulness?  There would be no reason for OPK's if this worked so well.  Or for blood tests post ovulation to show good progesterone levels.  You would just use your handy microscope.

I think they're a rip off.  Its just like someone saying "This worked for me and I got pregnant", and someone else trying the same thing and it didn't.  Pure chance.
