Ovulation tests

ok,
Me and my partner are TTC and i worked out that around the 7th april i would ovulate, so i have been doing my ovulation tests but they are showing that im not ovulating or not even about too! Me and my partner have been having sex the past week nearly everyday and frankly sex does get boring when its all the time. Does anyone know why ovulation tests show negative even if maybe i am ovulating? My last period was on 25th march if that helps.

Ive had three children my oldest is 10 then 9 then 8.  Ive been trying for a baby for one and a half years.  I have endrometreosis but the last time i went in for surgery my doctor said she couldnt find hardly any. Which is a good sight right? She also did a dye test on my falopion tubes which turned out normal. She dosent understand why im not getting pregnant.  Ive been doing the bbt charts for two months now and my temp isnt going up which makes me believe im not ovulating at all. I took my charts to my doctor but she is out of town for the rest of the week. Is there any medicine i can take to make me ovulate?  What are my options?  Both me and my husband have been taking vitamans and have stoped drinking caffiene because we were told caffiene is not good if your trying to concieve. Weve been timing my cycle, checking my cervix, eating good, and everything else we are suppose to.  PLease someone help us get pregnant.  ty  Carrie

There are a lot of things that could be going on here.  It is possible that you are having an anovulatory cycle, which every woman has from time to time.  It could be that you O very late in your cycle and you are testing too early.  It could be that your urine is too diluted for the OPK to detect your LH.  Also, many women have an LH surge that comes and goes in a matter of hours.  If you are one of these women and you don't use the OPK twice a day, you may miss your surge.  OPKs are best used in combination with BBT charting.  OPKs do not confirm O, they only detect your LH surge.  Having a raised temp on your BBT chart is about the best way to confirm O.  Also, BBT charting can help you make sure that your luteal phase (the time from O to AF) is long enough to support pregnancy.

Even though your cycle is 28-30 days, that does not tell you the length of your LP.  If your LP is shorter than 10 days, then you may have a hard time acheiving pregnancy.  Let's say that you O on CD 20 of a 28 day cycle.  That would make your LP 8 days long, which is too short.  I'm not trying to make you panic, a short LP is not the norm.  Most women have a 14 day LP.  I'm just bringing it up b/c if you find that your OPK is not detectcing your LH surge until pretty late in your cycle, then that may be something worth watching.  Every woman is different as far as cervical position.  Yes, typically before you O your cervix will be high, soft, open and wet.  It usually drops and becomes dry and firm before AF.  But when this happens varies.  It may happen a few days before AF, or the day of.  Checking your cervix is not a good way to determine pregnancy.  It is a good way to check your fertile days, but only if you check it every day.

Are your cycles regular? How many days have you been testing with the OPK? I used the OPK and did not get a positive until day 17 which puts me at a longer cycle. I started using the test at day 11. I thought I would never get a positive but I did. Also, it helps to check your cervix position and mucous. If your cervix is soft, high, open and wet, that is a good indicator of ovulation. Do not give up, your cycle may be a little longer this time around. Try not to stress out. Good luck.
