I honestly will wear a tampon to sleep if my flow isn't that heavy. It depends on your comfort zone. I've worn them up to 11 hours and have been totally fine, but if you don't feel comfortable with that then just set an alarm to change it at night. They are much more manageable. Sometimes I'll wear a tampon and a pad for extra protection.
Sometimes I'll "double up" on pads, and wear two. One more to the front of my undies and one to the back, and that usually does the trick if I don't feel like wearing a tampon that night.
Anyway, cheers! I love my tampons they make your period almost go away it seems like, but I like to give my area down there a break at night if I can and just go with pads sometimes.
