Painful Lump found on Vaginal Lip!!

Yesterday I found a lump on my left vaginal lip.  It's painful doing everyday things such as walking, sitting, wearing jeans, etc.  I don't see a head on it or any discoloration.  I'm concerned about what it could be.  I've never had any problems in that area of my body.  I'm hoping it could be a cyst, and not cancer.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Probably a bartholin gland. I had the same problem. Make sure you take hot baths and press hot washcloths on it. If that does not help go to your doc, they will have to drain it. Hope this helps.

I had one of those about a month ago, it lasted for about a week and a half, its painful, but it will go away on its own, I had gone to the doctor, and he stated if it didnt go away in 2 weeks come back. I just made sure the area was clean and I didnt have intercourse for the time I had it and it seemed to work just fine.

Thank you for the advice.  I really dread going to the doc, I will definitely try taking a hot bath and hopefully that will work.  I was begining to think I was the only woman that's had this problem.  Thank you again.
