Hi there.  Well, I don't think there is any particular brand that is better than any other.  So, you should go to the aisle and see that there are different levels of absorption to pick from  When your period is heavier, you'll need a thicker pad.  When you are sleeping you might want a pad that says it can handle 'overnight', a bit thinner for day.  Some women buy the thinnest for panty liners as they finish their period. So, if you look on the pad packaging, they'll have info on what to expect.  You DO have to change it during your heavier days about every 2 hours just like you do a tampon.  good luck
