Period And BirthControlPills....

by BabiiChopsta, Aug 30, 2006 12:00AM
i started my new pack of pills on the 13th of august. i was extrememly sick and ended up taking penicillin with it for that week. i barely ate much. on the 23th of august i got my period. i know it wasnt breakthrough bleeding because i had menstrual cramps and everything. it is now august 30 and i havent stopped bleeding. right now it seems like breakthrough bleeding.. extremely light and very dark blood. im still taking the pills daily. havent been taking penicillin. now im just curious...will i get another period next week? like honestly.. when will it stop :|.. has this ever happened to anyone? any input would be extrememly appreciated.

My advice is to keeping taking the pills as normal.  Have your period week and open a new pack as scheduled.  It sounds like the penicillin really messed with your body, but it's best to just stay the course and do what you would normally do.  I'm sure your bleeding will correct itself eventually but it might take another month of off/on spotting.

Good luck, hope this helps!  If any doubt, call the doc and inquire.
