Period Question

I'm 14 today and I started getting my periods in December 2008. So far the dates have been the following:

Dec 6-12
None in January
Feb 1-7
Mar 6-12

This past week I have been feeling like I was PMSing, but I still didn't get my period. I keep getting mood swings. Today, out of nowhere, I got really miserable. Today I have the worst mood swings all week. Plus, my ankles hurt badly. Is my period coming soon? Is my ankles hurting due to PMS?

sounds like pms. i've been getting my period since i was 12 and i'm now 23....i still get HORRIBLE mood swings. my ankles don't hurt but the rest of me does and i get miserable...that's usually the week before. take some midol and it should help you feel better. or tylonol pms (i use that one as well). if your pms symptoms are really bad you can go to an ob and ask about b/c. (b/c is good for other things besides preventing pregnancy) i was on it starting at 16 because of how heavy my flow was and how horrible my pms and cramping was. it helped SO SO SO much.

In most women, periods don't happen the same time every month for the first year. Mine still aren't completely regular and I have had them for over 8 years. It is possible that your periods are irregular but that may not be the case. You probably won't know if your periods are regular or irregular for awhile. Try taking Midol. Go to your pharmacy and read each package and decide which one is right for you. I use the Menstrual Complete and it works great. Good luck.
