How are you? Do you still have the prolonged period? Were you able to have this checked by your gynecologist? Prolonged periods or menorrhagia, may be attributed to a variety of issues such as hormonal imbalance, fibroids or noncancerous tumors of the uterus, possible miscarriage or pregnancy, medication side effect, gynecological issues and medical conditions such as liver, kidney, or thyroid disease as well as bleeding or platelet disorders. If it persists, it is best that you have this evaluated. Additional diagnostic tests such as imaging studies and blood tests may be done to help determine the underlying cause. Take care and do keep us posted.
