Period problems with blood clots

I have a question. For almost a month now i have been on my period . I am also having a lot of blood clots . Also cramping and pains. I have had problems in the past and i have had three surgeries to try and help it. I was just wondering if you know why does this go on for almost more than a month with blood clots as well. Thank you
