I had the exact same problem! And I have an EXTREME phobia of doctors. So this is what you do! Go to the pharmacy and buy some type of herbal anxiety pill. I got herbal nerve. Its not strong at all but it helps a little bit. And then you get up the nerve to go to the doctor. I learned that I had Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. It's usually caused from an STD but I didn't have an STD. It happened because of bacteria in my Lymph cells or something like that. It happens naturally and you wont know about it until you go to the doctor. You need to go NOW!!!!!! GO! It can make you unable to have children! PLEASE PLEASE GET HELP!

Telling someone who has a medical phobia to "just get over it"...is about as useful as bringing in a shaman for someone who needs a quadruple bypass or they will die.

I have dealt with a medical phobia my whole life and it specifically around needles and invasive procedures...you can't just "get over it". I have done biofeedback, talk therapy, desensitization and EMDR. Everything helped a little...nothing helped me completely get rid of my anxiety.

Things I would recommend:

  1) get someone to talk to about your fears (therapist / counselor / spiritual advisor)
  2) Begin now to find ways to reduce the anxiety (see list above)
  3) Talk to a nurse practitioner about your fear and making an appt at a clinic who will work with your anxiety...they are out there. remember YOU are paying them...if they don't give you what you need...don't go to them.
  4) Take someone with you for every medical appt you have...don't leave them in the waiting room but take them in to the appt with you. Let them know how they can support you (remind them what you need and what you want if you get too paralyzed with fear to tell them)
  5) Remember if you take control, they (others) won't have it. Good Luck!

get over your fear and go to the doctors. you could have an underlying problem going on
