Periods for six weeks ...

by Kair, Aug 26, 2008 12:45AM
Hi

I am 27 years old and have had my periods for 6 and a bit weeks and they are still going. Have had really large clots (egg yolk sized) and generally feeling rubbish!
Had an ultrasound at four weeks for fibroids and they found that my endometrium was about 12mm thick but there were no fibroids. There was a dominant follicle in the right ovary about 12-13mm and multiple small follicles too ... I dont know what this means!
Had blood tests and no hormone problems ... waiting for a gynaecologist appointment in another 3 weeks but getting a bit anxious about the bleeding ...
Apart from this I am pretty good health, a little overweight but exercising and sex makes the bleeding heavier
Does anyone have any ideas what it could be??
Cheers!
