I was prescribed Loestrin 20 two months ago after asking for a 'weaker' pill. The first month was pretty bad with immediate mood swings, fatigue and swollen breasts. The bleeding kept going through the whole month and stopped when my period was due! I have completed the second pack two days ago: I've had no bleeding expect a light period when it was due and the other symptoms have all improved. I have also.noticed that my sexual drive is well alive - not so much when I was taking Yasmine. Will keep you updated.
I took Loestrin 20 for three weeks and felt awful- very similar to how I felt in the first trimester of being pregnant- very nauseous, exhausted, sore breasts and craved only marmite on toast to eat!
I have just switched to Jasmine and 3 days in, I feel so much better... All of the side-effects have gone. However, the reason I am on the pill is to try and help my severe PMT (or PMS) so I am yet to discover if Jasmine helps me with that.
My GP informed me there are so many different pills out there and all our bodies are so different that we all react differently to each one, so it is best to try a few and find the right one for you... Don't put up with negative side effects. Good luck!
Hello, Thanks for replying!
I was only on Loestrin 20 for 5 days, and stopped it because i was feeling sick, tired and headachey with it, and that was just 5 days whilst on it, i spoke to my GP about it, and she told me it was normal, and just getting into my system! So I have decided to start Loestrin 20 again next month, i will keep in touch and let you know how it goes!
Thankyou
Hello,
Loestrin 20 tablets contain two active ingredients, ethinylestradiol and norethisterone. But it is not without side effects which include nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, enlargement, changes in menstrual bleeding, breakthrough bleeding, rise in blood pressure, gall stones and increased chances of blood clots.
