Possible miscarriage?

I am on the Orto-Evra patch, but have only been on it for 2 months.  I was having unprotected sex (he was withdrawing) for a couple weeks.  During the 2nd day of my period and large what looked like blood clot came out when I wiped.  It was way bigger then anything that had come out before and was more soild then a normal blood clot.  It had some gray matter in it(sorry for being so graphic).  I did not have much unusaual cramping.  I could have only been 4-5 weeks along and had no idea i was pregant.  Please respond if you know anything about miscarriages.  I would like to know if I just lost a baby.

The only way to know for sure is to have your dr immediately do an HCG blood test to check your hormone level.  I guess you could do a home preg. test, but to be truly accurate you should check w/ your dr.  It can take up to 2 mo. for your hormones to return to normal after miscarriage.  (I just suffered one a month ago).  If your HCG level is raised, you did miscarry.  You can definitely get preg. using the w/draw method.  Miscarriages occur in 1 of 3 preg, usually undetected.  Hope this helped!!!!

in my OPINION, it sounds like everything is okay. you are on the patch and he didn't ejaculate inside of you. (although some still comes out when aroused) but certainly lessens any risks. i will admit you did scare me until i kept reading (reguarding the size of the clot)i thought you said it was the size of the milk jug itself. then i relaxed. i personally have passed clots that size (just a couple days ago). even larger than a milk cap at times and they/mine do have "squiggly" things hanging/attached, almost "wispy"?  can you tell i have zero experience in the med. field w. my lingo? no, i can just offer what has happened to me.I think your okay but if it makes you feel better maybe your dr. can check for this? i do not know? hope you feel better.

Yes....he didn't ejaculate inside of me when we had sex that i knew of but there could have been a few times when he didn't... and the bulk of the clot was probably size of a milk jug top with some extra little pieces attatched.  Thank you so much for responding.

just a few questions to help understand..
you said when having sex, he withdrew? so he didnt ejaculate inside of you? also, can you compare the clot to something so we can get an idea of its size? although no one will be able to say whether that was indeed a fetus/not.
