Possible mixing of the wrong drugs??

by Mabes, Mar 11, 2007 12:00AM
I had knee surgery and hip surgery when I was young (im 20 years old now) and so often times my knee gets very sore. Last night I could barely walk so I took something I usually take, but I also mixed it with some vitamins that I take. I'm in college and dont make the best decisions, so I did this on an empty stomach, knowing it would make me feel a little sick. But this morning and ALL day long I have felt more than just a little sick. It started out with Nausea, so I ate some breakfast. It got worse so I ate a couple pieces of pizza. Before I knew it I was restless, couldnt stop moving my arms and legs, my neck and shoulders and parts of my back were gradually becoming achy, I was having chills and couldnt stay cool or keep warm, and my stomach seemed upset. Somehow I fell asleep despite feeling so irritable, and when I woke up I felt a little better. But my stomach is still rumbling (not hungry and not quite gas), my shoulders and neck still hurt a little, and my wrists feel sort of tight. I feel like I'm getting a little better but I still feel sick. I'm thinking the combination of drugs I took last night made me sick. This is what I took: Two Bayer Back and Body, One Women's multi-vitamin, and Two Acidophilus which naturally help boost my immune system. Can anyone please tell me if they think I mixed the wrong drugs, or if I might have something more serious? Thank you

sounds like the flu or some virus to me. those meds should be just fine to take together. drink lots of fluids and rest. you'll probably feel better in a few days. diarrhea/vomitting may also occur. take tylenol for the fever/chills. hope you feel better soon!

thanks for that speedy response! I was hoping this wasnt going to be the case! I almost died as a baby because my immune system is basically nonextistant, so Its very easy for me to get sick.

I am feeling a little better. I just tried to get up and walk around but my second toe on my left foot was cramping so badly that I fell to the floor. I dont think this is due to under-use because I was in bed for only about half of the day, and other than today I workout every single night!

Right now I am just weak and a little sore, so I'm hoping its all better tomorrow.
Thanks again!

Hopefully your immune system is just getting a wake-up call and will be able to fight it off quickly. Sometimes I start to feel bad and get a fever but never really get the full-blown flu. Hopefully this will be your case. Try some gatorade or some other electrolyte enhanced drink, it may help with the aches along with some tylenol. Take care and think positive!
