Post Menstrual Weight Gain

by Baby Bug, May 26, 2005 12:00AM
I will be 44 years old in June.  My periods are and have always been regular and last 3 days.  I had one pregnancy and an easy birth 20 years ago.  I am in excellent health.  I have been on a low carb diet since June 2003.  I lost about 10 pounds.  My weight is now 116 and I am 5'4" tall.  For about the past 9 months, my weight increases following my period.  I maintain my weight before my period now as I used to gain about 5 pounds of fluid before my period started.  Now, I put on the 5 pounds immediately following and it takes about a week to get back to my normal weight. My diet is constant and I exercise daily. Has anyone else experienced this?
