Pregnancy- I want to be pregnant, but I don't know if I actually am.

Hello everyone,
I have been reading everyone's questions and responses about being pregnant while having a period, but I feel like I need to post up my own to be sure. I was on the pill for 2 years, but I quit them about a year ago. After that, I did not have my period for about 9 months. I was very worried that something was wrong with me, but I never went to the doctor. I finally got my period on May 4, 2006, and started the pills again on May 7, when it was over. About a week later, I got married and had sex every day, but used a condom almost everytime. My husband and I had sex only once or twice without a condom, but I was still on the pill. I don't know if the pill had taken effect though. About one week before my period was due again, I started feeling a little nauseous, lightheaded, tender breasts, etc. I don't know if it was just me imagining it, but I had those symptoms. I have heard that those could be birth control symptoms too. The only thing is that I have never experienced any kind of symptoms before. Not even when my period was about to come or when I first started birth control. I have taken about 4 P/T and they have all come out negative. I also got my period one day early and it was very light at first, but then it just became a normal flow. My period has always been light, so that doesn't really tell me much. I did notice that it smells different though. I am still feeling some of the symptoms, even though my period is over. I just want to know if it is still possible that I can be pregnant. I would really like to have a baby, please respond.

hi! i would think that it is the side affects of the b/c pills. b/c pills trick your body to make it think its p and you can have lots of p side affects. i was on b/c for over 6 years (2 years were the pills) and with the pill for a long time i had all the signs of pregnancy.
do you want to get p now? i was just wondering why you got back on it after being off of it for awhile. if you are wanting to ttc now i would go see your obgyn and see about getting off the pill and then trying to get regular and start trying. i know if you are on b/c for a long time then sometimes it can take awhile to conceive after you get off. good luck

Hiya.

I think by the sounds of it ur not preg as yet because u seem to have had a normal period. I often wonder about smell too, my periods have also changed lately alot less since I stopped the pill and the smell isnt so icky, but it could be to do with stopping and going back on or something.

Maybe take it easy and see how things go, maybe monitor ur weight things like that make sure u eat well, if u really think u could be. But the chances are not, cos u had a neg HPT aswell, unless u can maybe try and work out the times u didnt use a condom and then work out when u ovulated.

All the best for the future, let us know how u get on

Thanks for the comments! I was pretty sure I was not pregnant, but it was just that I had NEVER had any kind of symptoms and it was just weird and different for me to get them this time. I have been reading a lot of the posts in here and many women have said that they have had their period and negative P/T and they still are pregnant. I was hoping that I could be one of them. The reason why I started the pills again is because my husband thinks that we should wait some time before having a baby. If I do end up pregnant, then he will be fine and happy with it, but he thinks it is better to try prevent it. I, on the other hand, was really excited at the thought that I might be pregnant, and I was hoping that I was, but then I got my period and my hopes were shattered.  I'm just going to have to listen to my husband and wait until we are a little more financially stable. Thanks for your responses, though!

I was curious to know if anyone knows how many days before you have your period can you take a pregnancy test?  I am suppose to start on the 29th and I think concieved the 16th.  When do you think a positive test will show?  I took one on Friday and Sunday both were negative.  Does this mean it was too early or is there still a chance I am pregnant?
