Pregnancy and Effexor

I have been on effexor (75mg) for about 5 years now and just found out I am pregnant (4 weeks). My doctor has said that in the event that I get pregnant that I should immediately stop taking the drug. I have tried stopping without weining before, but have not been successful. It is not that easy to do. But i do want to get off of them by wiening over the next couple weeks. It is okay for the baby to stay on them for a couple more weeks in order to wein myself off of them? What is the BEST thing to do?
