Pregnancy on the pill

Can you still get pregnant if your on the pill but you have sex while your on your period? Does the pill still work if your on your period because I know that the period pills are just sugar pills?

The pill isn't 100% effective. I think its about 99%. Therefore, out of 100 women taking the pill correctly, approx 1 woman will get pregnant.
The pill is no less effective when you are on your period. You release your egg in the middle of your cycle, this is when you become fertile. You may notice a mucous discharge around this time. You are most fertile for a few days when your egg has just been released.
It is very unlikely that you can become pregnant whilst on the pill and during your period.
