Pregnant 3 weeks after D&C

I was eleven weeks pregnant, had a sonogram, everything was fine,  and 3 days later lost the fetal heartbeat. So, I had a D&C 3 weeks and 4 days ago. I think I am pregnant again. I had read that you will have a unsuccesful pregnancy that soon after a D&C. So, I am wondering if I can be pregnant and carry a baby this soon. I have not had a period, since March, when I got pregnant.

Hi everyone its great to be able to talk to you all.I had a miscarriage 7weeks again I lost the baby without even none .I went to the hospital because I was bleeding I was told I had to take tablets to pass the sack .I was bleeding for 5days and went back two days later to find it wasnt all gone.So had to take more tablets.I was bleeding for two weeks and then it stopped .One week later I got my period it lasted one week .We started trying for a baby straight away its been ten days and I feel so sick the feeling im getting my periods again im really tired and moody .Could I be pregnant again .

How is everything going with your pregnancy, I just had a D and C on the 19th of April and really want to get pregnant again. I too had sex three days after the procedure and every other day since then. I hope everything is going great Sticky Baby Dust to you and everyone.

I am proof that you can get pregnant right after a D&C.  I was 7 weeks 3 days when I mc my precious angel Feb 9, 2013.   I had my D&C Feb 12, 2013.  I bleed the day of the procedure and that was it.  To say I was devistated was an understatement.  Every night my husband and I held each other until we went to sleep.  On the third night we were intimate with each other.  after that, we made love every day never once did we use protection.  I was told not to have intercourse for two weeks but I didn't care, needed to feel close to my husband.  About two weeks after D&C I started having symptoms that resembled being pregnant; headache, nausea, sore breasts and feeling light headed.  At first I kept telling myself it was wishful thinking, that I wasn't experiencing those symptoms.  The symptoms wouldn't go away. I finally said something to my husband about how I was feeling.  He suggested I take a pregnancy test.  I didn't want to bc I didn't want to feel the loss of my baby again if the test came back negative.  He said I needed to do it bc if it did come back negative, then something else was wrong.  I took the test and to my surprise it read positive!  It's only been twenty one days sinc my D&C.  How is this possible.  I scheduled an appointment with my dr, I needed to be sure I wasn't experiencing side effects from something left behind from D&C.  Ladies, I'M PREGNANT.  I excited and scared at the same time.  Keep trying ladies.  It can happen!!!

I had a Miss after 19 weeks it's been almost 3 weeks since dnc I had sex for the past 10 days my test reads positive but I also read that I could read that for the hormones that are still in your body the levels of meaning what do you think? The pregnancy test the plus sign is one is darker and the back of the plus A little later but it still marks as a plus sign

I too had a d&c due to my twins hav an extra chromosone. They were alive but so so unwell and would make it to live outside the womb. So so sad but we want to try again. I waited three weeks to hav sex and now a week later feel a bit hormonal and sore breasts. I heard you r more fertile after a lose so wonder if i am. I get pregnant easily. I hav a one yr old and want three more. Still sad after my bubs had to go...forever changed. Just want healthy babies;)

Hi Nicky. I am very sorry for your lost. I am experiencing exactly same situation like was yours. I miscarriage at 16 weeks a week ago. I developed some infection altough the doctors are not sure if it happened because of my infection. I do have a dynamic cervix which means it can go from 4,5 cm to 1 cm. It was a girl. We are heartbroken and do not know what to think about it. I was in the hospital for seven days, they knew about my infection and did not start to give me antibiotics until the day I miscarriage. It also started with strong contractions at night. Are you trying already to conceive? Did you do some special test or anything to see what was the cause of infection? Please let me know. I was 15 weeks and 5 days pregnnt. Everything was great. I had my doctor's appt on May 23rd. Found out I was having a boy, everything was great. The next day on Thursday I started spotting which lasted 3 days. I went to the ER that Saturday and they checked the baby everything was was great just had a UTI. The next morning I started having contractions and heavy bleeding then ended up back at the hospital. My cervix had gone from 3.4 cm to 1.1 in just those few hours. Monday at 3am I passed the baby but had to have a d&c later that morning for the remaining tissue. We are completely devistated. Seeing the comments have given me so much hope and is helping me get through this a little easier. We want to try again asap but our doctor (who we're not happy with right now) is telling us we can't have sex for 2 months and can't try till then. When is it ok to try again if we're emotionally ready?

Hi, I had a d&c on the 22nd March 2012. Baby had a heart beat week before. But then I started bleeding on the 19th and they scanned on the 21st and the heartbeat had gone. I opted for d&c as had had miscarriage before and lost naturally. Thought d&c would be easier this time and it was. My hubby and I waited 12 days after before having sex. I went back on the pill a week later but felt very sick. My bbs started hurting and I was hungry all the time. Thought it could be the pill. But came off after 8 days just in case. Did a test and it was positive. Have has slight spotting but think I'm now 9 weeks. feeling extremely sick. But feeling very positive. Hope this helps :)

PLEASE tell me your end result because I am kind of in the same boat as you, I had a d & c about 2 weeks ago and feel like I may be pregnant again. I have not taken any test tho, I feel its way too soon or that it might be the hormones.

I was told my hold entire life i would never have kids, so i never took the proper precautions to keep from being pregnant, for 8 years. On January 13 2012 Started feeling like i was pregnant so i took a test. (actually 5) ... with in 3 seconds these tests turned positive. i couldn't believe it. three days later on the 16th I went to the hospital because i started spotting, While i was there the did the first ultrasound and i found out i was 4 wks and 4 days with TWINS! We were very shock, scared but excited. I was blessed with not one but two. everything was fine i was just bleeding because of plantation. We went to hear the babies heartbeats on The babies fathers birthday February 8th, at 7wks 6 days. He said it was the best birthday present ever. all was well. On March 7th we went in i was 11wks and 6 days we went in expecting for them to be wiggling. Well they werent. There was no heartbeats on either one. they had stopped growing at 9 wks and 3 days, and 9 wks and 4 days(they were gone for three weeks). Of coarse i flipped out. i couldnt believe this was happening to me. I was scheduled for a DandC the following morning on the 8th of march,  I was in pain but i was and am still heart broken. On the 13th i passed a clot the size of a large pad, and i freaked  and rushed to the hospital. Come to find out they had left some " product" after the D&C. The hits just keep on coming. I had intercourse on the 16th,19th,20th-23rd. After my D&C all my symptoms literally stopped. Now 19 days after i feel like i am pregnant: heartburn nausea, but i dont think i have had a period. COULD IT BE!! :) I would be happy if so, but i dont want get my hopes up if its not possible. PLEASE HELP!

I had a missed miscarriage when I went in for my u/s on dec. 27th 2011....which means my body was still carry for the baby as if it was alive...I had a d&c the next morning...i ended up having intercourse on the 31st and the 3rd of january 2012...idk if I could be pregnant again? I hope that I am bc I am tired of this empty feeling...ihave a drs app the 10th, any advice

Hi I was 11 wks when I misscarried. In Nov 7th 2011  I have 2/12 yr old babygirl but she's lonley nd we heard a heart beat nd seen the baby the one day we had sex nd I started to bleed soo bad I found out our baby didn't have a heart beat :'( its my hubbys 1 st baby nd he was soo sad well  we r trying but I think I'm pregnant now but idk I hope soon

I was 14 weeks went to my first appt and they couldnt find the heartbeat. I had a d&c done on thursday and saturday I was bein rushed back to the hospital in severe pain. They said that I neede to have another surgery done because they left some tissue in. I stayed in the hospital four days with a fever and in pain couldnt walk.. Im out the hospital feeling much better a week later and I think im pregnant again....scared that its goin to happen again....

I went for routine 3 month scan on Monday and found out that our baby had stopped growing a week and half before. It was so hard to digest as we had seen it alive twice before at 7 weeks and 9 weeks! So so sad and difficult to accept. Went in for a d and c the following day unsure if I was doing correct thing. Best thing I did though as I immediately felt a sense of relief knowing that I did not have to wait for the unknown of when the baby would come out by itself. I am desperate to have another baby and am feeling so empty. Doctor says we can try again as soon as we are emotionally ready. I just worry that we will harm our chances of having a healthy pregnancy if we try too soon. When they removed the baby the doctor said it was stuck to wall of uterus and that they didn't want to scrape too much away for risk of damage. They told me to take home pregnancy test in 2 weeks to check hormones are back down. Any advice????

Hi, I had scan 21st july and was atleast 8 wks my baby had no heartbeat and only measured 6wks so had stopped growing then. i went into hosp on the 25th after bleeding but still hadnt passed everything so got tabs and stuff and bleeding on and off now for over 6 wks. my symptoms gradually decreased then after 2 weeks passed i was getting pregnancy symptoms again. not sure if i am ive taken test and its positive. been to docs so they are doing blood tests to see now its just the waiting game. hope this helps. cjx

Ok all here is my question… I had a D & C May 26

th, 2011 at 8 weeks pregnant. 26  days later I feel sick to my stomach and well almost like I am pregnant. I took a pregnancy test and its positive!! I am due for a “period” Thursday and wondering if it is really possible that I am pregnant before I even got a period. I just did blood work and have to wait for results then go again to see if they are increasing!! Anyone else have this situation that can offer advise to me?

Hi I had a d&c on may 27th at 7wks 5days ... I don't have an answer to ur question but, my doctor told me i could start trying again right away and also he told me that we are fertile for like the next 3 months following the MC and he thinks I'll be pregnant by July and of course I hope he's right :)  so I hope this was helpful and GOOD LUCK !!

I just turned 14 weeks pregnant on tuesday April 26, 2011 and had my Dr. apptmnt. that day and found out the baby had no heartbeat, I got a d&c on Wednesday the 27th , I've been so depressed because it took nearly 3 yrs. to conceive this baby after a miscarriage in march 2008, I'm so scared it's going to take so long again. Truth be told I waited about 6 months before I tried to conceive after the miscarriage in 2008, so I was wondering is it better to try right now soon to try to get pregnant rather then later? ? I just want to get pregnant as quick as possible, and I've heard you're most fertile after a miscarriage, does anyone know if that's true or not? I'am so lucky I have 3 kids already, just really wanting another and we have been trying so hard , it's so stressful.. anyhow anyones input would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

i had a missed miscarriage found out at my 12 wk u/s that it had stopped developing and had to have a d&c i bled for 2 days then stopped i'd had a few drinks to try and forget and then had unprotected sex the nxt day i bled again iv been havin intercourse pretty much everyday since it only happened 3 wks ago and we have decided we want to try for another so just wondered if anyone has become preg that soon after?? im scared that i wnt be able to get preg again and unsure of wen it wud be best to do a test to find out

Well... just wondering if you were in fact pregnant or not. I have the same thing right now.  At 12 weeks did not have a heartbeat and D&C. waited the 2 weeks. Did the baby dance and a week later with the sore bbs.  Wondering and hoping to be pregnant again. Of course with some reserve since I have not had a cycle yet. So we will see....

At my 13 week appt I had an u/s there was no heartbeat, baby stopped growing at 12 weeks and 5 days. I waited for the 2 week checkup to do the baby dance with my husband. Now a week later by bbs are sore. Could this be early pregnancy or just left over from the miscarriage

When I had my d and c done I kept getting positive pregnancy tests for like a month after!!!! It turned out that they missed a little when they did the d and c and that is why I was still getting a positve result. I did end up passing the rest of it naturally, but it hurt very badly!!!! But just to give u a little hope I am 35 weeks pregnant now with a healthy baby boy!!!! It only took me 2 months to concive again and I only had sex with my hubby one time that whole month b/c I had a very bad cold!!!! I think that I read somewhere that you become very fertile after a m/c b/c your body is already in pregnancy mode. So you may be pregnant again who knows!!! If I were you I would go to the dollar store( I love those cheap tests ) and buy like 10 pregnancy tests.... do one each day at the same time and see if you r still getting a positive... if u are check with your doc to see what they say! There are some ladies on here that have gotten pregnant soon after a m/c or d&c, without waiting on af to come back around.  To be honest, I don't remember everyone's stories.  I'm sure someone will post and help answer your question.
