Pregnant or not?

by Karen17, Dec 15, 2006 12:00AM
Hi everyone

I was curious to know if this has ever happened to anyone. I took three First Response pregnancy test (#1 on the 9th of Dec #2 on the 10th of Dec and #3 on the 11th of Dec) and they all came back positive but they lighten up as the days went on. I expected by period on the 9th and it is still MIA. Because I am not convince I tool yet another test today (12/15) and the positive line is almost non existant. I contacted my doctor and scheduled an appoinment for 1/5/07. I am not sure how to feel because I am afraid that if I get too excited I will be disappointed in the future. I have been trying for 1 year and 1/2 and this would be a true blessing.

Your pregnant...I have never had an innacurate result from FIRST RESPONSE.  I have taken a hundred of them...I have had 3 positives that were positive, and all of the negatives were accurate as well.  In addition, a line is a line.  If there are 2 lines that you can read, it is a positive...I believe this is explained in the instruction and FAQ's pamphlet contained in the box.  Best wishes to you!

You have to read the test while its still wet.  After it dries out over a period of time it can no longer be valid.  I'd say you've had three positive results, roll with that :)

I know how hard it can be to believe what you are seeing sometimes.  Hey my doctor announced to me I was pregnant and I went home and took my own urine test because I was in disbelief!

Your doctors appointment is in 3 weeks. So test again in like a week and a half to make yourself feel better and to help you pass some time.  You can make it!

Congrats and keep us updated!

Happy Holidays

Only time will tell on this one. It is possible that your hormone levels are going down, but lets just hope for the best. Do you feel pregnant? Just wait and see. Good luck to you!!

I think that these will be the longest two weeks of my life. The only thing that I feel is tired and have to run to the bathroom frequently.

Being tired and having to pee frequently are good signs! When you get pregnant your blood volume increases by almost 40%  hence the now frequent need to urinate.

Put your feet up, watch a movie, relax.  Its the best thing for you now and not worrying :)

try testing with the digital test then you don't have to worry about a line.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but mine lightened as the days went on and I ended up having a miscarriage ): Are they all the same brand? I hope this is not true in your case though. This pregnancy the lines darkened as the days progressed and the test line was even darker than the control line with the last test I took.

I just thought that the HCG levels were suppose to increase as the days went by and the lines should be getting darker and not lighter. That is the thing that concerns me.

Hi,
I am sorry that you have to worry. I am going through the same thing with the lines getting lighter but I could never wait two weeks.  You should call your DR, it doesnt have to be your OBGYN and have them do a blood test.  The blood test will tell you if you are pregnant then you can go back in a day and they take your blood again.  If your blood count doubles things are on track if it doesn't then you will know. I wish you the best of luck and no matter what happens you know that at least you can get pregnant and if it is not this time i'm sure it will be soon.

Good luck.
