I don't understand why everyone thinks that pregnant moms can't take anything at all for pain relief.  I suffered a terrible cold with my 2nd pregnancy.  Throat hurt so bad I dreaded having to swallow my own saliva.  Not that I look forward to swallowing anyone else's.  A couple of regular strength Tylenol did the trick.  Within 5 to 10 minutes I suddenly realised I could swallow without pain.  Tylenol and Advil are safe during pregnancy as well as a few anihistamines.  Try checking with your Dr. or even your pharmasist.  They have this huge book behind the counter to tell them what is safe and what isn't.  If you have a stuffy head though you can't take a decongestant.  A cool mist vaporizer and some Vicks vapor rub is about all you can use.

Some throat lozenges and Halls may help, but other than that? Nothing is really safe, esp during the first and third trimester. Sorry. I feel for you...I'm due any day now and I've had my share of colds, allergies, etc through out this whole thing.
Try wrapping a hot towel or heating pad around your throat for awhile. Popsicles seem to help too.
Drink plenty of water. Hot lemon tea (caffeine free) with honey helps as well.
Avoid triggers such as perfume, hairspray, etc. These only make the coughing worse.
Look up herbal or home remedies on line...some are really good. My grandmother was a believer in mustard packs lol.
Just be careful with some of them. Always best to ask your doctor before taking herbs of any kind...even most herbal teas are bad for baby.
Good luck
