Pros and Cons.....Breastfeeding or Bottle???????

The Maternal form was full...so heres my question.  I am due November 1st with my first child.  I am currently in college but dont return until January.  However I am trying to decide if I want to Breastfeed or bottle feed.  If I am going to breastfeed I would like to do so longer than 2 months....however when Im in school I usally have classes at least 3 days out of the week that are like 8 to 5 or 6.  Then the other days that I get out of school early I would like to work some and that would put me getting of work around 6.  If  I only am going to have 10 mins between classes....maybe the most an hour...when am I going to have time to pump? Plus  I comute to school so where would I store the milk? Should I just go ahead and start bottle feeding in November?

Any ladies that have been in a similar situation or have any input at all on this topic I would very much appreciate it.  Also the Pros and Cons of Breastfeeding and bottle feeding.  Thanks so much and feel free to share any stories!

Any amount of breastmilk is better than none at all. I agree with the other ladies, nurse as long a possible before returning to school and see if you can work out a system with pumping or work on nursing in the evenings after class. I was fortunate to have many of the coursework related to my program offered online as well as on campus, so when I went back to school I opted for the online courses and did my coursework around my babies schedule.

Hopefully things will work out for you guys. I am 100% pro nursing, even a little is better than nothing ; )

I really think breast is best, but sometimes life doesnt allow for it.  I tried hard with my 2 and I did for quite a few months with my first and with my youngest cos he was premie I was scared he wasnt getting enough, I didnt have very good midwives. But I would say breastfeed until u go back to school, and either express in the morning or try what the lady did above, but use milk not mild! :-P

All the best, even if u used formula its still good so dont feel bad just try ur best :-) But in the first weeks breastmilk is important so even for that time if u can give it then theres nothing with using both!

And CONGRATS BTW :-)

You know that books say that the boob is better but the formula is just as good the most important part of breast milk is the colostrom which is the clear fluid that comes right before you get actual milk so if you wanted to give your baby the best with formula punp in the beginning so he/she gets the good stuff i bottle feed both of my kids and plan on doing it with any future kids and the ones that i have now are pefect little terrors.so whatever you choose your baby will be fine.

Bottle feeding is easier because if you need a break some one else can take over!:)
