RECURRING YEAST INFECTIONS..

i have been having recurring yeast infections off and on for just about a year now and was tested for hiv april 2006 which had negative results.  i have used monistat and diflucan (perscribed by my gyn) and it cleared up for maybe 2 weeks at the most and now back again.  i had my annual in february 2007 and all came back great in all areas including red blood cells, white blood cells, glucose (77)etc.  everything came back as normal.  i had a cbc in the past month which results were normal. i also took tests to measure ph level in vagina a day ago and the results show that i have a normal ph balance twice.  i have had surgery in the 80s for partial endometriosis, have had 1 ectopic pregnancy about 8 years ago and am now on depo-provera birth control for the past 8 years or so.

my questions are:  would i have a normal vaginal ph balance if there was some std present?  would having had partial endometriosis and an ectopic pregnancy in the past and having surgery for it and/or being on depo-provera for the past 10 years have any effect on getting these yeast infections?  thanks for any insight that you can provide.

Several yrs. ago I had the same problem.  My doc kept prescribing cream and diflucan to no prevail.  I finally went and saw a diff. doc and he gave me what I want to say was the Z pack-the same thing used for sinus infections and I haven't had  yeast infections since.  I think the body becomes immune to the creams and stuff after so many uses-just like anything else.  Good luck!

Quick question--are you sexually active with the same parnter?  I am asking this as you may get treated but for some reason he keeps passing it back to you and you keep getting the infection.  Or I have also heard that if you use pleasure products (vibrator) and they are not cleaned properly it can cause this type of thing to happen--just giving you info that I have heard that could be a possilbility in your life.  Hope you can find resolve soon--I know that these type of infections are not fun.
