Reasons for late menstrual cycle, but not pregnant?

My period is nearly two weeks late. I took two pregnancy tests on July 20th. Both came out negative. I have not gained or lost a lot of weight recently. I have also been a lot more stressed than this, and still had a regular menstrual cycle. If it makes any difference, I just started have sex in early July, but all protected. Condoms were checked before, even during, and after to make sure they didn't break. What else could cause my period to be so late, or miss it altogether?

My regular menstrual cycle is around the middle of each month. Most of the time between the 10th and 15th. I keep getting the sensation that it's coming, including cramping last weekend.

Hi there!

Aside pregnancy, delayed periods could occur due to a few causes such as stress or a recent weight change, gynaecological pathology, anovulatory cycles, hormonal imbalance, PCOD, anemia, infections, systemic abnormalities, thyroid imbalances etc. just to name a few. Delayed periods for 2-3 weeks should not be a reason for alarm, since most of the time it is stress caused. I would suggest distressing yourself. Hopefully you would get your periods in a few days/ weeks. However if these are delayed by more than 2-3 months in the event of a pregnancy test being negative, I would suggest seeing a gynaecologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
