Reasons for weakened perenium skin...?

Hey Ladies....

I'm trying to figure something out. For the past few months the skin between the vag & bum (closer to bum) has been getting irritated VERY easily. Even wiping from going to the bathroom can cause a little tear. Sex of course leads to some irritation for a few days. I have no STDs, was just at the DOC & tested for yeast & everything & she just said it was irritated. If I put cream on for a few days, it's better.

My question is - why is this happening?? I never had problems with this before. I've been with my BF for 3 years, and this is all knew within the past 6 months or so. After sex (not rough sex) it will be sore..

Could this be from my pill?? I've been on Seasonale for about 3 years, I get some weird side effects like night sweats - but could this be doing that? I can't find any information online, it all has to do with childbirth.  I've never given birth, been with the same parter, it's just something new. Is it hormones???  Please let me know if you have any ideas!

THANK YOU!

thanks for the response... yeah, I'm really puzzled as to what this is. We had sex today and I'm fine now, so weird! I have to watch the angles though, or else I can feel that area getting hurt... Maybe it's the diet?

Anyway, i think I'm going to switch pills soon, maybe that will help...

THANKS

hey -- not during usually... but after. Usually, i wait till the area is totally healed then I have sex...then it will be irritated.... it's been a couple of weeks though!

I get tears in that area also. At 1st I thought it was hemorrhoids due to constipation, but then I kept getting one in the same spot. Sometimes the tear looks like a paper cut and it will last for days. My last cut stayed around for 14 days. Miserable.
I have been diagnosed with what is called Vulvodynia now for 3 months. I've read a lot of info on-line. There is a good site called: Vulvodynia-Treatment.com and also Dr. Glazer's site may be helpfull. A lot of women suffer from yeast and they don't even have symptoms... at least not the common ones like foul odor etc. There are so many reasons why that skin could be tearing. Check out the sites and talk to your GYN!

thanks for the response -- but I don't use scented sanitary products, and I only get my 4 times a year because of the Seasonale....

Also, I have been using the same laundry detergent since I was a kid... so that can't be it. I only wear cotton, no thongs, etc etc... Also, same in the shower - warm water only, but I wash my body with Aveeno (supposed to be all natural).

I feel like it's gotta be something else. NONE of my habits in life have changed in the past 6 months, well, except for a gluten free diet... but I don't think that's it.

Please help!

hey -- thanks! how do you treat this?

I checked out that site - thanks -- not sure this is what it is, was just at the gyn she didn't say anything... hmm, I'll have to see what happens then maybe pay another visit to her. I wonder if i have the little cut now because I'm finishing up some antibiotics... who knows - it's really frustrating because it detracts from sex!

I might sound a little crazy but cuts like that and soreness will happen to me when I eat really spicy food.  Its like all of my tissue burns!  If its only after sex then it might be from the rubbing of his hair in that area and you may not be lubricating enough, if its not sex related then you should check your diet.

scented laundry detergents and scented sanitary products (why they think we want our v's to smell like baby powder I will never know) can irritate that area.  Switch to all unscented products, clean with only water and see if that helps.

Let us know...
