Redness after a cold sore

I Had a cold sore for about two weeks now that it is healed I have redness where the cold sore was. Does this go away in time. Is it a permenant scar. What can I do about this?

mederma(scar ointment) or straight vitamin e, you puncture the vitamin E capsul and spread on sore...it will fade and be gone by winter.

It will be red like a scar there for a LONG time. But, good news, eventually it WILL go away. Be patient, it is most noticable to you; )

It's going to stay red for a while...I had a huge zit on my jawline a while back and it left a nasty mark that lasted for a few weeks. It's almost gone now, but I use patroleum jelly cream as a moisturizer because I have dry skn, it works very well with that, and it also works well with healing.
But expect to see that red mark for a while... I use a dab of white shineless eyeshaddow to cover it... it works and it's not noticeable like extra foundation or coverup.
