Regrets

I was sterilised a yr ago and had a nova sure ablation done at the same time, i have regretted it ever since.
Im still getting periods that last 6 days.
Since i had these done i have really felt angry at myself for doing this and feel v stupid, the hospital carried out the procedures without too much questioning.  Im 36 and have kids.
I have lost interest in sex since i had this done and its all driving me mad.  I would like to have my sterlilsation reversed (i had clips) but dont think they would do it because of the ablation.

Anyone been in this situation..... Its really getting me down.

No the ablation was to treat my periods, the sterilisation (using clips) was pritty much pushed on me from many angles, its a long story.
I know i have read from a dr that if u are still having periods then you still have some healthy womb tissue which makes becoming pregnant possible, where if u have no periods then it shows there is tiny chance.....
Im in the UK by the way.

with the ablation, it burns and scars the uterus. there is not much chance a pregnancy can hold after. sorry. go and see your doc for further advice

It's true that tubal ligation reversal is not covered by insurance, but it doesn't mean you can't have it done.  There are doctors who specialize in it, and your odds are better because you only had clips and it has only been a year.  The ablation does not sound like it was all that successful if you still have 6-day periods ... if anyone can get pregnant after an ablation and not have it be life-threatening or damaging to the baby, it would be a woman who is still having 6-day periods despite ablation.  Talk to a fertility specialist about your uterine lining before you spend the cash on a reversal.  I hope it is good news.

If you can pay for it, someone will reverse your tubal. It's almost NEVER covered by insurance. If it was me, I'd return to the Gyn Doctor who did the surgery and have her/him know about your feelings and see if there is a way to help you short of another surgery. This is one reason doctors almost never do tubals on young women or women who have only one child. I'm not sure what made you think a tubal would treat your periods; as one has nothing to do with the other.
