Reoccuring Period

my wife is 42 years old. Her tubes are tied. In January she was 8 days late with her period. Then two weeks after her period she started to have another. Now she thinks she is starting again. Three times in 5 weeks?! Any suggestions? Thank you,

Hi Oz,
I had my laparoscopy procedure done this last month since I had all the symptoms of endo. He said he didnt see any but he wasn't sure if he missed it. I am still having the same symptoms to this day. I'm in pain 24-7. I was put on depo provera but it made it worse. Have you started a pain chart along with your times of cycles? I have been doing it since October. My struggle was I couldn't find anyone that would take me serious enough so that's why its taking me so long to get any results. If you continue to have your cycles every 2 weeks its only going to get worse. Your body can only handle so much and you dont want to wait to long before seeing your gyn. growths restart and its just more painful as time goes on. My mother also went through pre menopause when she was my age. She had all the symptoms I'm going through now but back then they really didnt get into endometriosis as much as they do now. My grand mother died from uterine cancer when I was very young. Even though I have had my cycles every 2 weeks for 2 years the pain didnt start till Oct. of this past year. mine went like this. Oct 3rd - 13th...Oct 28th - 2nd...Nov.17th - 22nd...Dec.5th - 10th...Dec.31st - Jan.5th...Jan.23rd - 26th. I'm not sure if I will start again this next week since I just took the depo on the last day of my last cycle. Take a look into dysfunctional uterine bleeding. I have and it has to do with endo as well. I have an appointment with me gyn on the 19th(counting the days!) to set up a time to go in for a hysterectomy. I'm not having any more children and I have tried everything to stop the pain and bleeding I was told depo provera is only a quick fix for dysfunctional uterine bleeding. I have heavy cycles as well and I pass a lot of large clots. I go through a lot of pads the first 2-3 days. I went through all the tests as well and they came back fine. My gyn found out through my laparoscopy. Let me know how things are going for you. I know going through too many cycles can lead to more serious situations. I'm getting biopsy done on my ovaries and uterus as well. thats the only way to find out what exactly it is. Good luck....Staci

Hi Staci,
I didn't know my husband wrote in to this forum but I'm open to any suggestions. Thank you for writing back.  I've always been regular (28 day cycle) and on time.  I did/do have endometriosis and for the 1st three days of my cycle I cramp/clot real bad and my cycle last 6-7 days.   Just this Dec. I got my period Dec. 1st and then didn't get it until Jan 5th. This was the first time I've been this late. My cycle lasted the usual day and then I got it again on the 24th. I had exactly 2 week before it started.  It ended on Jan. 30th and yesterday I spotted a little and thought I was getting it again! Now, today I am not spotting so not sure what is going on. Begin of Dec. I did have full blood work done for various things and one was to see if I was starting menopause.  My pap was normal, I am slightly anemic and my estrogen levels were low and it show I wasn't dropping an egg.  So, I am guessing I am starting peri-menopause... I am 43 and my mother said she start peri-menopause at 45. My periods seem to be getting heavier the 1st 3 - 4 days too.  I am tracking these cycles as of Dec.  so if they keep coming too early or too late, then I will contact my Gyno again. Thank you for your advice and I am open to all advice you have to share.

Dear LandofOz, I am 38 and I have my cycles every 2 weeks. I was told 2 years ago it was pre-menopause and was put on birth control for 3 months. It didnt work. Your wife needs to see a GYN. Obviously she's not on birth control but that might be a good start. Has she been having any pain with these cycles? I would like to know. I have been through sooo much with my cycles and Doctors have narrowed it down for me. I have had many opinions. You might want to look up what is called Dysfunctional uterine bleeding. I'm not sure what all your wife is going through other wise I would give you more info but I dont want to lead you off in the wrong direction. if you can tell me more I can try to at least give you what I am going through and have been through. Any woman that is having this problem is not right and I feel for them. I have been with my husband for 22 years and he is my support. I'm happy to see you are supporting your wife.
