Im currently 8 months, I've had a terrible time trying to get comfy, Between my restlessRestless leg syndrome legs and have a watermelon for a stomach..LOL..I can not get to sleep! Anyone know of a way to calm my legs and make em stop wanting to run a marathon when I'm trying to get to sleep? I've tried a pillow between my legs and my husband rubbing them with lotion but it dont seem to help for long. Help!
I know your pain! I had RLS before, during, and after pregnancy. Don't you wish you had that desire to move during the day when you need it!? Ok, so I found that doing easy exercises for about 15 minutes before bed works. I stretch a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys, then shift my weight around from leg to leg, squat slowly and gently about 15-20 times, then maybe do some light lunges. Try going for a walk in the eveningEvening primrose Evening primrose oil, too. I know it's not easy to be mobile in your last trimester. All the best!
Now, this is one I can REALLY relate to! The problem is called, RestlessRestless leg syndrome Leg Syndrome and thousands of people suffer from it. Apparently, more womenWomen's way have it than men. I've had it for years; it comes and goes but when it comes, it's really miserable. My doctor prescribed a medication for it but I take so many medications already, I decided not to take another one.
If you look this up on the Internet, you can find a lot of good information about it.
This problem has bothered me for the past year and a half. At first just once in a while and only one leg. But now it happens about every night after lying down in bed and it often involves first one leg and then the other. I have tried various home remedies rather than resort to pills. There has been a good deal of stress in my life in the past year or so and I suspect that is the cause. I have found only one thing that works every time and stops it. I figured out it has to do with my brain being too active re problems and that if I could distract my thoughts, it would go away. So I get up as soon as it starts and go to my computer and play one of the games: bowling, Solitare, Crystal Gems. It forces you to concentrate on what you do and usually in 30 minutes, its gone and I go back to bed. I get enouogh sleep and there are no side effects accept that you get pretty good at scoring in the games!
and sleep. Once in a while I get a second spell early in the a.m. and I do it again.
