Same birth control pill but different brand?

Hello. My girlfriend has been taking birth control pills for about three years now. She is very good about taking her pills and she has had no problems with them before. Just recently she went into the clinic she always goes to to pick up her birth control pills. This time, the nurse (who has been giving her the birth control pills she has been taking for years) gave her a different kind(by that I mean look and packaging) of birth control pill. The nurse told her not to worry because the pills were the same pill it was just a different brand. My question is will the effectiveness of the birth control pills be altered in anyway. The nurse told her that the pills were the same kind of pill but just a different brand so is there any reason to worry?

ok. just wanted to make sure before we did anything. I figured since the nurse said it was okay we should trust her but you can't be too careful, you know? Anyway, thanks for the response. If you wouldn't mind me asking, did anything change when you switched birth control? Like I said, the nurse said that it was basically the same pill it was just a different brand and came in a different packaging.

There is no need to worry about a different brand of birth control.  I have mine switched a couple of times.  It still works the same.
