Scratch/cut inside vagina

My girlfriend noticed that she has pain along one side of her vaginal wall whenever we have sex. This has occurred only recently (two days ago). I think she has a cut/scratch along one side of her vaginal wall. When she's walking around or peeing she has no pains what-so-ever. There is also no bleeding or anything.

I've read a few posts here about vaginal tears and cuts, but they only refer to cuts and tears ON the vagina and not IN the vagina. Is there a difference in treatment? If we hold off on the sex for a few days is it just going to heal up on its own?

If you have experienced something similar before, how long does it take to heal up?
