Severe Pain around Navel and Lower Back

Hello. I'm currently 17, and for as long as I can remember, I've randomly gotten these strange, excruciating pains in the area around my navel and my lower back. The only way I can describe it is that it feels as if there is a pole running from the navel through the small of the back, twisting. It feels as if all of the muscles and such around the area are being pulled and twisted. Sometimes, it gets so severe that it inhibits my ability to move. They don’t occur very often, 5 times a year at the most, and only last a day or two, but when they happen, I am bed-ridden for the day. Does anybody know what this could be? I’ve basically just dealt with it my whole life. I’ve talked to my doctor about this and she is baffled, but thinks it might possibly be muscle spasms, but she doesn't know for sure. Nothing came up in any blood tests, either. Thanks in advanced for your help!

What about kidney stones? I have had two and they are debilitating for about a day and it feels like a pole running threw from my back to the front. They were found with and x-ray. Some people get them more frequently and they can be caused by certain things you eat. Do you ever hear a plink in the toilet when you go to the bathroom. Just a thought.
