Short period after two years menopause/hotflashes disapear?

by Dianewest, Oct 08, 2006 12:00AM
I'm 52 years old, and have been without a period for almost two years. I have had hot flashes for about the same period of time.  The hot flashes went away about three weeks ago, and I had a short menstral period for about two-three days.  No pain or discomfort at all during the period.  I still don't have hot flashes, though, about four weeks now.  I have an appointment with my gyn on Friday, but was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?  I also worry a little about fibroids/cancer, etc. My husband thinks I'm having sympothy for my pregant daughter, so I had a period.  I doubt that one.  I had a spasm in my back and took some Aleve for a few days/don't know if that may have brought on any slight bleeding.  I also started exercising and losing a little weight, maybe 10 pounds.  Don't know if these symptoms can happen for those things.  Little confused, although feeling really wonderful.  No hot flashes, no period, no pain.  A little worried something that doesn't show up as pain?  Any thoughts/suggestions??Thanks, Diane

No, haven't had a hysterectomy (yet!).  I have a doctor's appt on Friday to maybe take a biopsy.  Anyone had one of those?  My sister says it really hurts.  I feel great, no more bleeding, no more hot flashes... possibly waiting for the bomb to drop that something seriously is wrong.  Seems like I'd have some other type of symptoms if that were the case.

The doctor said he's give me a break this time, he thinks my hormones are fluctuating.  He said I'd have to call if it happens again.  Closed for now. Thanks,
