Skipping Periods

I just started my cycle on Wednesday and was wondering if I started a new pack of birth control pills today will that stop or shorten the days of my period?  I have holidays on a beach and I don't want to be menstrating at the same time.

Starting a new pack in the middle of the other pack will for sure mess up your periods, but by doing this it may completely mess up your hormones and your cycle... and could cause serious problems in the future. It could stop your period completely for a while. Thats what happened to me. Mine was an accident though.
