Slightly Yellow Discharge/ Swollen Labia/BV?

Okay, heres my story. I had unprotected sex with a male partner. A couple days later, I noticed some minor itchy/irritation of the vulva. I went to my health center, they screened me for gonnohrea/chlaymdia/trich, etc. All came back negatitive. They said I had a yeast infection. Used the treatment they gave me, and it did not work. I then began to notice a slight yellow thin snotty looking discharge. I went to Planned Parenthood because I thought maybe they missed something. Had all the same screening done, and they said that I def had BV infection, and that all the std tests once again came back negatitive. They gave me flagyl, which seemed to clear up the discharge, but the vulva was still swollen/ irritated. Then I notice the discharge again, this time it is much heaver, and constant. I went to my obgyn, same std tests, neg results. Says she sees no sign of infection, sends me off like nothing is wrong. I have been dealing with this for months, is it possible that I do have an std infection and that these tests are not very accurate? If i did have trich, the flagyl should have cleared it up, and can BV cause this vulva irritation? They have even began to tell me I might have vulvodynia, this seems ridiculous, i have never had a problem before, and discharge is not normally a symptom?

I just went to the doctor for this today, and I found out that I have a bacterial infection AND a yeast infection at the same time. She looked really hard for trich but didn't find any, so don't worry. Go to the Dr, if you can't afford to go to  Planned Parenthood, its free. Dr. Gave me a weeks worth of pills for the BV and a single dose pill for the yeastie. Its not working yet of course, and I can hardly wait. Soooo uncomfortable and itchy, and the discharge is disgusting. I have the same symptoms as you, so go to the DR.

Be sure you are tested for the Herpes virus as this is not actually a part of a standard STD test...it has to be specifically requested and a blood test is accurate to determine if you indeed have this infection. I suggest getting tested for this asap, so this is ruled out as a possibility.

It sounds more like a water infection than anything to do with the reproductive organs. Visit your doctor again and explain the pain during urination, it's extremely common for women to gain this multiple times due to our small urethra allowing easy access to bacteria, although males can sometimes get it too. Medication can completely clear the infection within 3 days. Hope this helps :)
