Sling Surgery

I am scheduled to have sling surgery in Aug 2009 and have several questions...  I am worried about getting back on my feet, sexual relations and if this will truly help my situation.  I only have leaking when I run hard, exercise, sneeze, cough stuff like that...but being the person I am I love doing these things so this leaking quite depressing.  I have read some horror stories.  I do not want to jump the gun and DO not want to give up the quality of life I have now to improve one area yet hurt another area.  Any information anyone can share would be most appreciated.  I have 2 kids and age 40.  Thanks!!!

Had trans obturator taping aug 3rd, Having no trouble with incontinence since.  I had pain in my right groin area for about a week afterwards. It was hard to bend over, sit or lift my right leg up .  It has been 2 weeks and no I am vurtually pain free now

Depends on the sort of surgery that you are having.  Is it an anterior colporrhaphy?  If so, I think these have the highest rate of success than any of the other procedures such as a burch suspension.

Has the surgeon or specialist suggested any other alternatives such as tension free tape (although you have to be under GA, it doesn't involve any major surgery)?
