Sore during sex after BV treatment?

by ryanluver, Nov 09, 2005 12:00AM
I saw my gynocologist this past July because I was experiencing an increase in discharge. She said I had BV and I took the metrogel she prescribed. I experienced some light bleeding while taking it. A month later I went back and she said I still had it. I told her about the bleeding and she said not to worry, so I took the metrogel again. I finished that one about 5 days ago. I had sex for the first time since then today and I had a burning sensation the whole time - it was not very comfortable. That's also how it felt when I originally went to see my doctor. Is this from the BV irritation? I've started taking acidopholis too.. I don't know what else to do to, but I sure would like to have sex without this pain! (btw all std tests & pap came back ok)

It sounds like you have a sensitivity or allergy to that metrogel. I would expect it to heal up soon, though. I'm surprised your gyn didn't care about the bleeding and irritation. If it doesn't go away soon, maybe you should get a second opinion. Is BV Bacterial Vaginitis? If so, you could probably take an oral antibiotic instead.
