Spot on breast..

by Aleeluh, Apr 15, 2007 12:00AM
Hi everyone this is my first time on these boards, im in need of some advice. I have found a redish/sometimes purple/black place on the under part of my breast it has been there for about 4months. I went and saw a doctor three months or so ago, she said "its a bruise you prob hit it on something, if it doesnt go away in a week or so call me..I knew I hadn't hit it on anything but she is the doctor not me"<== she didnt seem to worried.

The place didn't go away in a week , so I decided to give it a few more days and it never disappeared, so I called her again.. the same doctor was suppose to make me an appointment with a specialist for something else and still hasnt, all and all she just doesn't seem to care. I have recently been looking for a new doctor. =( The place hasn't went away in four months so it is not a bruise.. I have added some photos in the links below of the spot, and maybe some of you can give me some information or input, it really has me worried. The pictures are cropped just so you can see the place and nothing else, don't worry. Thanks in advance everyone.

What is a obgyn that you went to.  If you still have the spot, We can't view the pictures the links didn't work, then I suggest you get a new doctor and don't play around with this.  GOOD LUCK!

It is a superficial mark? In other words, is it just on the surface of the skin or is there a lump or thickening underneath? Has the mark changed at all during the past four months? Either way, a new spot that appears such as yours needs follow up with a GOOD doctor. It could be nothing at all, but you can't gamble with your health. Getting yourself to a new doctor asap should be your top priority.

I couldn't tell by the photo, but is there a center to it or any raised, lighter area in the middle? I had a similar marking one time, but it did not last as long as yours. Mine turned out to be an ingrown hair. Weird, I never saw where the root even was. I squeezed on it and it bruised more and leaked out the old blood before I actually saw that a small hair was under there. I would NOT recommend that you do this. Try a dermatologist, they may have to lance it if that is what it is. Best wishes.
