Spotting instead of period

I decided to stop taking birth-control pills in October of 2010. The last time I had a full period was December 2010. Ever since then, from January to present April 2011, I have been spotting instead of bleeding monthly. It had crossed my mind that I might be pregnant so I went to a clinic in March and had a pregnancy test done and it was negative. If this keeps up I plan to see the doctor. Is this normal after getting off birth-control? What do you think is happening to my body? Please help.

i think it could possibly be normal for spotting each month to occur up to 6 or 7 month after coming off birth control depending on what kind it was. I was on depo and i never had a first period until 6 months after i stopped it and my period was very light but it could also be a sign of early pregnancy so i would wait another coule of weeks before taking any other tests incase it is a sign of that. hope this helps
