Std? Or infection

I had unprotected sex with a random guy (please don't judge) and about two days after I really started to itch down there, I also have yellow greenish discharge but there is no pain when I pee at all. Then just yesterday what I think to be my lymph nodes feel swollen too, I have a few bumps that don't hurt but idk if there were there before or after....I'm really scared it could be herpes please help!

Get the appointment as an urgent one.  The sooner you start the appropriate medication to treat what you have,  the better.

I understand that you are a little scared and worried, but try not to get too stressed about it.  Accept that you have a medical condition that you cannot treat yourself and the doctor is there to help treat you to make you well again.  I used to be scared and worried sick when I was young, if I knew the doctor would be examining any of my private bits, but as I have got older (I was 63 in April), I am past being embarrassed and tell the doctor to tell me what to do to make it easier for him to examine me.   Don't forget the doctor is there to help you and will have seen lots of people's private areas.

To put your mind at rest, women can sometimes get bacterial vaginosis even if they have been with a partner that has slept around. The discoloured pus would point to bacterial vaginosis, but having said that, because you have been with someone you do not know if they are "clean", you do need to get the appropriate tests done to know exactly what is causing your symptoms (sexually transmitted or otherwise) so that you can be given the appropriate treatment as soon as possible.

Best wishes.

Make an appointment to see your doctor urgently.

Itchiness can be a sign of a fungal infection and if that is what you have, you need treatment with antifungal creams and/or capsules to take by mouth.
Itchiness can also be due to catching crabs from someone who has them by having direct contact with that person.  So do check that there are no crabs.  Personally, I don't think you have crabs - but do check just to make sure.

Having a yellow greenish discharge is indicative of a bacterial or protazoal infection.  This may be an STD or a bacterial infection.  Only getting examined with the appropriate tests will confirm what you have picked up from that guy.  Either way, you need treatment as soon as possible.

Tell your doctor about having unprotected sex and the symptoms that you have.  The doctor may prescribe a metronizadole or an antibiotic medication for you and may also prescribe a pessary that is inserted into the vagina.  He may also arrange for you to have a swab done that is sent to the laboratory to identify the bacteria that is causing your symptoms and the appropriate medications that will treat the problem/s that you have.

If you are prescribed with metronizadole, do NOT drink any alcohol at all, it will make you extremely ill if you do.  Always follow the advice of your doctor with regard how to take your medications that he prescribes for you and always read the information leaflet that usually comes with any prescriptions before you start taking them.

Do NOT have sex with anyone - not even with condoms.  Wait until you are completely clear.  Unfortunately for you, you have learned the hard way with regard to the risks of having unprotected sex with someone that you do not know anything about.

Unfortunately, you aren't the first person and you won't be the last in finding out the hard way of the risks that are associated with having unprotected sex.  If you are able to contact this random guy, you should, to tell him to get checked out at the GUM clinic and not have any sex with any other person before he is found to be cleared.

Make an urgent appointment to see your doctor or get checked out urgently at the GUM clinic.

Wishing you a speeding recovery.
Let me know how you get on.

Hi there.  Std's usually don't itch hon.  However, you can pass yeast back and forth.  A doctor's check would be wise to get checked out and is also great for peace of mind.

And let's remember that this is a member to member forum and diagnosing is not what we do here.

good luck to the poster.
