Strange Rash on Inner Thigh on Day of Period

Just this morning before my period started, I noticed this strange rash (looks like a bunch of pimples together) on my inner thigh just above my vagina. I heard this might be a sympton of using tampons but I never have used tampons and I thought maybe this has to do with the start of my period? But this has never happened before...I'm very active (gym and/or run every day for an hour) and on birth control (Yasmin). Any ideas? Alternatively, are there any over the counter creams or ointments I can use? I'm a grad student so going to a doctor is expensive and would like to avoid one if possible...of course if this doesn't go away I will have to but for now? HelP!

Give it a couple of days, because it might just be a minor rash and will clear up within a few days. How long have you had it? If you'd like to try something immediately, try buying a triple-antibiotic ointment, they cost around $10. They super-disinfect, and it might just be the thing you need, as the rash might have appeared from sweating or something. Hope this helps.

I should also note that I'm not sexually active - tis the life of a graduate student.
