I recently got diagnosed with a Strep B infection after noticing symptoms such as burning in the cervix during and after intercourse. I was put on a course of ammoxicillin for ten days but my doctor said it might affect my fertility. I have read up a bit on Strep B but it seems to mainly affect pregnant women, which I am not. What I want to know is whether it is a bacterium that can be passed to my male partner? If so, is it dangerous for him? Am I at risk of infertility? If not, is it likely to be a cause of a problem when I do try and conceive?
